On July 29, 2020, a report was received from Kanaker-Zeytun Medical Center that a 31-year-old woman, a resident of Yerevan, had been diagnosed with uterine bleeding.
According to the materials prepared on the basis of the alarm, factual data were obtained that on July 29, 2020, she gave birth to a female baby alone in the bathroom of her workplace. Hearing the baby's scream, she put the towel in her mouth, then put the baby in a plastic bag for garbage and threw it in the garbage dump of the adjacent building, where the baby's body was found.
A criminal case has been initiated in the RA Investigative Committee under the Article 106 of the RA Criminal Code (murder of a newborn child by its mother). The woman was arrested on suspicion of killing her newborn baby. A forensic examination of the body has been ordered.
The investigation is underway.
