A meeting chaired by the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was held, during which the strategy of the garbage collection system and the program of measures envisaged by it were discussed.
It was reported that the strategy has developed a two-year action plan, which will be aimed at improving the quality of garbage collection services in the country, ensuring ecological conditions, and introducing appropriate mechanisms for recyclable waste.
It was noted that the work on replenishment with technical equipment is underway, in particular 59 technical means and 600 garbage cans have already been purchased.
In cooperation with international partners two large new garbage landfills are being built in Yerevan and Hrazdan. Construction will start soon.
The strategy envisages drawing up specific garbage collection schemes for communities, establishing garbage collection points in settlements and establishing separate procedures for construction waste.
The Prime Minister Pashinyan concidered important the organization of a high level garbage collection in the country and noted that the strategy should fully ensure solution of this problem. Pashinyan also stressed the importance of organization of garbage collection in recreation and riverside areas and gave relevant instructions.
