The epidemic situation in Armenia has improved. The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at the briefing today.
He noted that the number of new cases has returned to the level of the end of May, as well as the number of seriously ill, and the number of extremely serious patients returned to the level of early June.
"Of course this comparison is relative, the number of seriously ill people has decreased not only due to recovery, but also due to death. We have 723 deaths. I express my condolences to their families," said the Prime Minister.
He stated that the coronavirus overcoming phase has started in Armenia and the improvement of the situation is directly connected with the anti-epidemic measures taken by the government, the cornerstone of which, according to PM, is the obligatory wearing of masks.
"However, we want to warn that if we weaken our vigilance against the background of these declining numbers, we can quickly return to the most critical situation, with a serious increase in numbers.
Therefore continue to follow the anti-epidemic rules with greater vigilance, as we have been given a chance to overcome this crisis", Pashinyan stressed, adding that the police will continue to exercise strong control.
"Many people are wondering whether there will be a quick reopening of air transportation or not, especially in August, at the peak of the holiday season. I suggest spending your vacation in Armenia and developing domestic tourism", said the Prime Minister.
