In an interview with Russian RBC, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to RT TV Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan 's scandalous post on Armenian-Russian relations, which got a negative response in Armenia and Armenian circles.
Pashinyan particularly noted that Russia's ally in the Republic of Armenia is the Armenian people, not individual politicians.
On July 18 on her Telegram channel Margarita Simonyan touched upon the issue of Armenia's non-recognition of Crimea, in response to Russia's long-standing kindness and defense of Armenia.
"Armenia has not recognized the independence of Nagorno Karabakh. Does this mean that we do not support Nagorno Karabakh? No. However, at the same time, Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh are one security area", the RA Prime Minister stated in response to Simonyan's post.
Commenting on Margarita Simonyan's reference to the arrest of the former RA President Robert Kocharyan, Nikol Pashinyan stated. "Russia should understand that Russia's ally in Armenia is not Pashinyan, Petrosyan, Poghosyan, Sargsyan, Kocharyan. The ally and partner is the Armenian people. This is a very important nuance".
Referring to the work of non-profit organizations, the head of the Armenian government said that these organizations started their work many years before he came to power in 2018. Pashinyan noted that these organizations were established during the rule of Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan.
