Today Gegham Gevorgyan, the Chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition of the Republic of Armenia, addressed official letters to Igor Artemev, Head of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service, to Serik Jumangarin, Member of the EEC Competition and Antitrust Regulatory Board.
The matter concenes the issue of banning the sale of fruits exported from Armenia on July 17-18 by the management of the retail center this year.
In the letters to the partners it is particularly emphasized that the above-mentioned actions have no economic justification, hinder the free sale of goods between the EEU member states, discriminate, create unequal conditions in the cross-border market, violating the general rules of competition enshrined in the EEU Treaty.
The SCPEC Chairman expressed hope that the RF and EEU partners would discuss these anti-competitive steps, take operative measures to restore a level playing field in the market, excluding such anti-competitive actions in the future.
