The President of the Republic Armen Sargsyan visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and met with His Holiness Karekin II , Catholicos of All Armenians, the President's press office informs.
The President of the Republic and Catholicos referred to the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan in the Tavush section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in recent days, the shelling of peaceful settlements by the Azerbaijani armed forces.
They considered it important and symbolic that the clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, both in Armenia and in the Diaspora, as throughout our history, are standing by our soldiers who defend homeland and peace.
The President and the Catholicos also spoke about the most important issues of national-church life, the strengthening of Homeland-Diaspora ties. President Sargsyan thanked the Catholicos of All Armenians for the support programs implemented by the Armenian Apostolic Church in the face of the coronavirus.
