"Tonight at around 00:40 the special forces of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, more than 100 people, carried out another subversive attack to occupy the border post of the RA Armed Forces in the Tavush region, called Anvakh. The position is in the direction of Movses and Aygepar villages, the events of the last days are developing in this very position", the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at today's sitting of the Government.
He said that our soldiers controlling positions noticed the movement of the enemy and taking the circle defense method, prevented the enemy's subversive penetration attempt.
"After a hot battle the enemy was thrown back. According to preliminary data, the enemy has fatalities, wounded, also lost equipment. Then, at 05:20 the Azeri units started shelling the villages of Aygepar, Movses, using mortar and D30 artillery. At the same time attacks were carried out in direction near "Anvakh" position, but the RA Armed Forces confidently repulsed all the attacks and took the situation under full control.
I want to emphasize that there are no casualties on our part, neither among the military nor the civilian population. Let me note that in recent days, starting from Sunday, Azerbaijan has shelled the villages of Movses, Aygepar, Chinari, Nerkin-Karmiraghbyur, as a result of which civil infrastructure and residential houses have been damaged. I have already instructed to study the damage and give an assessment", said the Prime Minister.
