The CSTO expresses its deep concern over the escalation of the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and calls for an immediate ceasefire. This was mentioned in the comment of the secretariat of the organization, RIA Novosti reports.
"CSTO Secretariat expresses concern over the tense situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which has arisen since July 12, after the armed clashes between the units of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as a result of which there are dead and wounded.
The current situation does not contribute to the settlement of the conflict between two neighboring countries, one of which is the Republic of Armenia, a CSTO member state, and points to the violation of the ceasefire agreements, which was ensured at the level of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan", stated CSTO.
The organization calls on the parties to immediately restore the ceasefire in the territories under the responsibility of the CSTO.
