Today in the Parliament the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan clarified how the Government spends the funds received from international organizations. According to him, the 280 million given by the International Monetary Fund are credit means, and as discussed in the National Assembly, the 280 million dollars would be directed to the expenses conditioned by the supposed uncollected incomes.
"In other words, we will have a bigger deficit this year due to the crisis. 280 million will be directed to the expenses envisaged by our budget", Avinyan said.
He also noted aid that at the initial stage instead of up to 300 daily tests for coronavirus disease, up to 1000 tests were performed in May, and in June, due to further capacity building, that number doubled to more than 2,000 tests per day. "Contributing to the growth of testing capacity was the fact that private laboratories, which had the proper capacity and conditions were given the opportunity to conduct testing" Avinyan said, adding that the establishment of local test production also significantly increased the state's capacity.
Speaking about the regular air transportation and the work of public schools the Deputy Prime Minister said: "Our goal will be to make it possible for schools to resume their work in September, not online, but in a normal mode, by observing certain rules".
In connection with air transportation, Avinyan noted that the issue of increasing the number of private flights is being discussed at the moment. The resumption of general air transportation is connected with the exit from the state of emergency and with the data of the epidemic.
