The head of the RA NA "My Step" faction Lilit Makunts referred to the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, emphasizing that in this situation she considers important the CSTO reaction.
"Today, the Azerbaijani armed forces carried out provocative actions towards the state border of the Republic of Armenia, to which they received an adequate response from the Armenian armed forces, suffering human losses. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan continues to escalate the situation by actively launching military operations involving large-caliber weapons.
It is clear that these actions are in the context of Aliyev's belligerent statements, aimed at undermining the peace process. In this regard I consider important an adequate international response, including by the CSTO, to Azerbaijan, which will be an additional deterrent for militant Baku.
"Hopefully, the Azerbaijani side will quickly draw appropriate conclusions and will not try to solve internal political problems at the cost of human lives, otherwise the entire responsibility for the consequences will fall on the political leadership of Azerbaijan", Lilit Makunts wrote.
