The US Congressman Adam Schiff expressed concern over Azerbaijan's provocative and destabilizing actions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the direction of Tavush. Schiff wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"I am very concerned about the provocative and destabilizing actions of Azerbaijan along the Armenian border in recent days, including the shelling of Armenian soldiers. These actions endanger the lives of soldiers: civilians and increase the risk of escalation of the conflict, which could have devastating consequences for the region, especially in the context of the global epidemic.
These actions should also be considered in the context of Azerbaijan's belligerent rhetoric towards Armenia and Artsakh and not allowing international monitoring of its own borders. I urge the State Department to clarify for all parties the need for restraint, diplomacy, and de-escalation", Adam Schiff wrote.
