On behalf of the World Alliance of Information Technologies and Services on the occasion of Karen Vardanyan's untimely death, the president of the alliance Yvonne Chiu expressed his condolences.

As a longtime executive director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UITE), Karen was considered "the father of Armenia's technology sector" His devotion to his own country, to the field of information and communication technologies and especially to the youth was inspiring and will be remembered with great longing.
WITSA is proud to have awarded Karen with its highest and most prestigious WITSA’s Eminent Person’s Award in 2019. It is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to human development. His name will go down in history among other bright laureates of the award. Karen was a great man and a wonderful, kind person. He will be greatly missed", said Yvonne Chiu.

passed away on July 10. By the decision of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a governmental funeral commission was set up.
