On July 1, Germany took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the next six months. 1lurer.am spoke with expert Isabel Shatoyan to find out what this presidency will give to Armenia, at what stage is the ratification of the Armenia-EU Partnership Agreement.
To remind - there are 3 countries left: Spain, Portugal and Italy to ratify the agreement.
"After the ratification of the three countries and after informing the EU Council the process can be said to be over and it will enter the stage of 100% implementation. The EU-Armenia Agreement is now 80% in implementation. The roadmap was approved in June 2019, but it was approved for 100% implementation", the expert said.
According to her there are other areas in which cooperation should be deepened. It refers to the priorities set by Germany, for example, the development of digital technologies, issues concerning the environment, the rule of law, etc.
