The representative of the RA National AssemblyIn in the Constitutional Court submitted a petition to the CC, asking to postpone the haring of the case, scheduled for July 7, 2020. The representative asked to provide the National Assembly with the Armenian translations of the ECHR and VC advisory opinions, as well as a reasonable period of time to get acquainted with those opinions. NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan stated this on his Facebook page.
To remind - On July 7, the Constitutional Court was to examine the application on Robert Kocharyan's case. Kocharyan's advocacy team recently withdrew its application from the Constitutional Court, but there is another application in the proceedings of the Constitutional Court, which was submitted on May 18, 2019 by Judge of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan David Grigoryan.
On the same day Davit Grigoryan had ruled to release from custody Robert Kocharyan, who is accused of violating the constitutional order within the "March 1" case, also accused in receiving a particularly large bribe. On May 20, Davit Grigoryan suspended the proceedings and sent it to the Constitutional Court to determine the constitutionality of the article on violating of the constitutional order.
