On the eve of the US Independence Day the President Armen Sargsyan hosted the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lynne Tracy. On the occasion of the National Holiday, the President Sargsyan congratulated and wished success to the Ambassador and to the friendly people of the United States.
The Armenian President expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the United States Government to Armenia, especially in this difficult period due to the coronavirus epidemic, noting that true friendship is seen at a difficult time.
The Ambassador Tracey noted that the United States continues to assist Armenia in the development of democracy, the fight against corruption, reforms in various fields and the creation of an attractive business environment for investors.
At the request of the Ambassador the RA President touched upon the amendments to the Constitution and the process related to the constitutional reforms. In this context speaking about the Commission on Constitutional Reforms, President Sargsyan considered imortant public discussions on the process of drafting the Basic Law and the participation of the widest possible sections of the society.
The interlocutors also talked about investments. They agreed that any investment should be protected not only by law but also by having a favorable and attractive environment, emphasizing the work and joint efforts in that direction.
