The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan informed at today's sitting of the Government that negotiations are underway in two directions - for acquisition of a vaccine against coronavirus. The first direction is directly the producers with whom the minister personally negotiates.
"Yesterday I spoke with the commercial director of Moderna, a company affiliated with our compatriot Nubar Afeyan. Their vaccine is one of the most likely candidates. We are also negotiating with the platforms of WTO and UNICEF, which will try to make collective purchases for a large number of countries in large numbers", said the Minister.
According to Torosyan there is a danger that there may be countries that will buy a large number of vaccines at once and other countries may not be able to reach it in time. The Minister noted that according to various estimates, the vaccine will be available either in late 2020 or early 2021. It will be clear in the beginning of autumn, at the end of the research of the third stage.
The Prime Minister said in his turn that even after the positive news about the vaccine, the control should be tightened so that we do not condemn to death others.
