The World Health Organization (WHO) has provided 10,000 diagnostic tests with EU financial support to aid Armenia in response to the pandemic.
The diagnostic tests were obtained to support the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, which will allow expanding the free testing of citizens for the coronavirus disease throughout the country. This approach is in line with WHO recommendations: to test all suspected COVID-19 cases to detect the disease in time and monitor its spread.
The testing quality assured by the WHO. It will be possible to get an accurate result in just 75 minutes. Thanks to such a short process it will be possible to save the time and energy of the medical staff, reduce human error and test more citizens in one day.
Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Victorin, Representative of the WHO Armenia Office Yegor Zaytzev, RA Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan and RA Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts visited the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health to receive diagnostic tests.
