"In recent weeks we have been paying more attention to scandalous criminal cases, political processes, events in the National Assembly, in the meantime we are setting new counter-records in terms of the coronavirus epidemic", The Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at the briefing after the sitting of the Office in charge of state of emergency.
He noted that Armenia is in leading position in the world in terms of cases for population of 1 million, which is a big problem, but, according to Pashinyan, there is a bigger problem from which the mentioned problem arises.
"Now the population of 3 million people in Armenia had to fight against the epidemic, but we do not have such a situation, the appropriate consciousness does not exist yet. The misinformation continues that there is no coronavirus and life is normal. Yes, life should be normal, but it should be strictly in accordance with anti-epidemic rules", said the Prime Minister.
He stated that at the sitting of the Office in charge of state of emergency they discussed the issue to go for the tightening of anti-epidemic rules, the package of those tightenings may have different directions.
Pashinyan also said that fines for not wearing a mask will begin. "Our task is not to fine anyone, we want to say that someone may not be fined if follow the anti-epidemic rules", Pashinyan said.
