The RA General Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal against the decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan to reject the motion to detain Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" faction of the National Assembly.
Adviser to the RA Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan stated this in response to 1lurer.am inquiry. According to him, the appeal was submitted to the RA Criminal Court of Appeal today.
To remind - In connection with the fact of distributing electoral bribes in 2017 in favor of the "Tsarukyan" bloc in the NSS a criminal case was initiated and after receiving the consent of the National Assembly on June 16, the head of the "Prosperous Armenia" faction was charged.
On June 21 the Yervan court of first Instance rejected the motion of the preliminary investigation body to choose detention as a measure of restraint against Tsarukyan.
