"I have sent a letter to the President of the Chairman of European Parliament David Sassoli regarding the pro-Azerbaijani statement of three members of the European Parliament", RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"I quote a small passage ․ "This statement is more unacceptable, given the period when the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Minister of Defense are threatening to start a new war".
It is noteworthy that such statements by EU lawmakers may be used as an endorsement of aggression against the people of Artsakh. a use of military force by anti-democratic and militant officials of Azerbaijan.
I would like to add that we are concerned about the attitude of the co-rapporteur on Armenia, Basescu, who is known for his close ties with the Azerbaijani leadership and has made contradictory remarks about Armenians living in Romania in the past.
This gives grounds to suppose that Traian Basescu is unable to renounce his previous relations and to show a conscientious and inclusive approach to his current responsibilities", wrote Ararat Mirzoyan.
