Today the Chairman of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio, Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe presenting the report on the activities of the Commission for 2019, also touched upon the cooperation of the Commission with Armenia. The RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan wrote about it on his Facebook page.
"Mr. Buquicchio, in particular, noted that oligarchic regimes have failed in two member states, Armenia and Moldova. "We (the Commission) support these two states in their efforts to build democratic systems.
One of the challenges, especially for Armenian, but also for the Moldovan authorities, is to meet the expectations of the people and to bring about real change in the country on the one hand, and on the other hand to maintain the right balance between the requirements of legal stability and the rule of law.
Now in this week's session we will approve about 10 of the most complex and sensitive opinions", said Mr Buquicchio, noting that these views among other things include a proposal to reform the Constitutional Court and criminalizing the overthrowing the constitutional order in Armenia", wrote the minister Badasyan.
