During the question-and-answer session in the parliament the Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan touched upon the situation in the penitentiaries in connection with the coronavirus, noting that disinfection works are always carried out in all penitentiaries.
"One of the latest amendments allowed the transfer to be handed over to the convict once a month. As a result of all these measures, we have only one convict with a case of coronavirus, and he is isolated in the convicts' hospital.
Rapid tests have been performed in penitentiaries and it turned out that there was no spread of the infection", Badasyan said.
