Today in a briefing with journalists NA Deputy Speaker Alen Simonyan said that there are issues that need to be clarified. These issues are related to why some deputies are without a mask, why they announce that a mask is not needed, and there are some announcements in the press, that the coronavirus is causing political speculation. He said there should be appropriate responses to that.
Referring to the deprivation of immunity of the MP Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia faction, and the events that followed, Simonyan said. "Everyone in Armenia, including me, is equal before the law". He assured that there can be no question of political persecution, added that there was no specific case related to any specific party member.
"After the revolution there have been criminal cases against at least three high-ranking officials of our government, and that cases are ongoing today. Is it also political persecution?”, Simonyan asked.
