The Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a hearing in the Government today, during which the report of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs was presented.
Minister Zaruhi Batoyan noted that during the reporting period the minimum monthly salary in Armenia was continuously increased taking into account the country's macroeconomic indicators. Since 2020 the minimum wage has been set at 68,000 AMD. The draft law on the rights of persons with disabilities and other projects related to the sphere have been developed. The requirements for shelters for victims of domestic violence have been set.
During the hearings it was stressed that since the non-violent, velvet, people's revolution in 2018, budget allocations in the social sphere have sharply increased over the past 2 years - by about 75.4 billion drams or 18.1%.
In general the Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the ministry's 2019 activity. He stressed importance of the work of developing socoal strategies in a short period of time.
The Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction with the results of the anti-crisis measures taken by the Ministry and instructed to do the work more dynamic and intensive in the future.
