Today the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the issue of depriving PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan of immunity and initiating criminal proceedings against him.
The Prime Minister reminded that his spokesperson had responded to the well known statement of the PAP lider, saying that she thinks - Tsarukyan is concerned about a number of related to him criminal cases.
The Prime Minister suggested recalling the statistics of the last 2 years. "On July 5, 2018 when the PAP representatives were part of our government, a criminal case was initiated against Eduard Babayan, connected with the famous beating episode. Now he is a member of the National Assembly. On July 6 Eduard Babayan was arrested, then the case was sent to court and then a guilty verdict was handed down.
When it comes to Tsarukyan's son - Nver Tsarukyan. On January 29, 2019, a criminal case was filed over the famous murder in Abovyan. Nver Tsarukyan was interrogated as a witness, after which searches were carried out at Nver Tsarukyan's residence including in the private house in Tsakhkadzor. In other words, this is not the first case", Pashinyan said.
He reminded a number of other cases, then stressed that the previous government has always used criminal cases to keep these forces under control, because it had a problem of legitimacy. "Our government has no such a problem. We don't need to make criminal cases a matter of political bargaining", said the Prime Minister.
According to Pashinyan one of the most important case in the history of the Third Republic is being investigated. He said - a system of coercion the will of the people was revealed. The Prime Minister concluded - "The corruption system must be completely uprooted from this land".
