PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan posted a statement on his Facebook page in which in particular is mentioned:
"I thank all the people who showed by their presence that there cannot be a sole authority.
Why is the government taking such a steps? The answer is very simple. Due to the pandemic it's an extremely difficult situation in Armenia. The country is in a health crisis, the terrible consequences of which our population will still feel. The Government is responsible for tens of thousands cases of infections and hundreds of deaths. Even at this moment the Government does not have a clear strategy, does not imagine the problem in all its depth.
And what is the government doing? Instead of trying to solve the problem it is trying to intimidate his opponents. The campaign of law enforcement against me, the initiation of criminal cases started a few days ago, after my famous speech.
Frankly that was to be expected. But in my heart I had a weak hope that the government would perceive the issues raised in my speech as an alarm and try to find solutions.
I appeal to our citizens - don't despair, everything will be fine, we will overcome this crisis even if the authorities and personally Nikol Pashinyan do everything to worsen the situation. I want to ask all of you to keep our trustl, I also ask you in any case follow all the anti-epidemic rules".
