"We have discussed several scenarios, including the option of entering a phase of total blockade, announcing a curfew, banning most of the economic activities", stated the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a briefing today.
The PM noted that after discussions he is not inclined to any of options. "We need to make sure that the measures taken will solve our problems", he said, adding that they had expected the coronavirus infection to peak in late June.
However according to Pashinyan there is no evidence to support this view, and no one can prove that the peak of the infection will be in June, and not in October or December.
"The main solution I imagine, which I continue to believe in, is the change of individual behavior. We must be able to solve the problem together, with the mass change of individual behavior. I believe in the citizen of the Republic of Armenia, I believe in each of us", said the Prime Minister, adding: "The situation remains tense, but I believe we can change it with the behavior of each of us”.
"Our task today is to support the health care system. Our healthcare system works wonders today. People are coming back to life from the near death. Now we must be able to infect as much as our system can accept. Our problem is clear - to make sure that the capabilities of our healthcare system are not exhausted”, also said the PM during the briefing.
