"I have bad news, our epidemic situation is getting worse", Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this live on Facebook today.
He noted that 697 new cases of coronavirus have been registered yesterday. According to the Prime Minister, we are in a situation when medical institutions are not able to hospitalize patients.
Pashinyan said, that he, his wife and one of his daughters have undergone a medical examination and do not have pneumonia, the disease continues to be asymptomatic. He said only about 10 percent of asymptomatic patients may have consequences. The Prime Minister also noted he did not have a fever and did not have it now.
The Prime Minister said that about 75% of patients are asymptomatic, which prevents them from seriously assessing the situation. And the other 25% the people who need serious medical care.
"We have come to line, when our healthcare system faintly stands the situation. We need to divide asymptomatics into two groups: asymptomatic who know they are sick and asymptomatic who do not know they are sick. Today, there are about 20,000 people in the country who do not know that they are ill, those around them do not know about that, and they become the main cause of infection. These people are in transport, in a cafe, on the street, and so on. Therefore, it is very important that we all consider ourselves infected and use preventive measures in communication. These are well-known anti-epidemic rules”, Pashinyan said.
"I am raising another issue now: an anti-epidemic movement must start in Armenia, each of us must do everything possible to prevent the spread of the infection. How ?: A) To strictly adheres to the anti-epidemic rules, B) To demands from others to observe the anti-epidemic rules, C) To publish the violation cases on social media.
I urge everyone to join the movement", also stated the PM.
