"The situation with the coronavirus in Armenia remains tense. We had 516 new cases yesterday, and this number was incomprehensible to me, as we have repeatedly examined the anti-epidemic rules, the observance of which should have led to a significant reduction in cases", Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing today.
"I was not satisfied with the reports of the state bodies about the reasons, and I appealed to the public to raise the issue of non-compliance with the rules via Facebook. And a terrible reality was revealed - we are dealing with huge amounts of non-compliance with anti-epidemic rules in Armenia.
The first reaction to this situation is to criticize the police, but as a result of studying the situation I noticed - no power structure can fight against such a phenomenon. If the rules are not followed by the majority, the situation gets out of control. We discovered that secret parties, weddings, festive and aother events are being organized. It is clear that we are dealing with the wide spread non-observance of the rules", said the Prime Minister.
He thanked all the citizens who participated in the public control flash mob. "Today we have managed to carry out a mini-revolution, today we have seen a small change in discipline. So, we are starting to form a public control team”, said Nikol Pashinyan.
