The regular sitting of the commission coordinating the work on preventing the spread of coronavirus in Armenia took place today, remotly chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Opening the sitting, the Prime Minister noted. "Despite the preventive measures taken by the government and the safety rules set, there is a daily increase in cases of coronavirus disease in the country. At today's sitting I propose to discuss the situation with the coronavirus epidemic, the effectiveness of the measures taken and our further actions to prevent the spread of the infection".
The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan presented information on the statistics of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease, recovery and mortality rates, and control activities. The Minister touched upon the dynamics of the spread of the infection and the steps taken to increase the capacity of the healthcare system in line with it.
During the exchange of views on further actions, a number of observations were presented, in which the proposal to tighten control measures was predominant.
Summing up the discussion, the Prime Minister noted:
"We are moving forward with the logic of tightening control over the observance of the rules. Serious work must be done to increase discipline and prevent the organization of any kind of mass event”.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed the heads of the state control bodies to strictly conduct the observance of preventive rules, to control the organization of various mass events and to regularly report about that.
