"Unfortunately the situation with the coronavirus epidemic in our country continues to worsen", the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today during a briefing.
Reminding that 517 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered yesterday, Pashinyan said: "The main question is why all this happening to us? I would like to state once again that our main problem is the quality of compliance with anti-epidemic rules. We are convinced that adhering to these rules will lead to a decrease in the number of cases of coronavirus, even to zero. These rules are very simple.
But I want to talk about the general political context of the situation, because the genealogy of our power is working against us. In 2018 in Armenia the atmosphere of fear has essentially been neutralized, but instead, unfortunately, the atmosphere of respect for the law has not yet reached the proper level. And, in fact, we have a problem with the quality and severity of the adhering to rules".
In the current situation, the Prime Minister sees the following solution. "Today we are facing the following milestone: either because the rules are not being followed, we are again going through widespread restrictions, subjecting the country to new economic and social upheavals, or we are working together to control this situation and achieve very fast results", said the Prime Minister.
Pashinyan also stated - if Armenia returns to a strict regime of restrictions, there will be a long-term economic crisis.
