Today during a briefing the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has decreased in recent days, but the monitoring should be continued to make sure that there is a substantive change.
"Our assessments on the epidemic situation have not changed", he said adding: "Strict adherence to anti-epidemic rules remains a necessity, but I want to emphasize that it will be a necessity for the next year as well. The fact that the rules are not observed at a proper level is evidenced by the fact that yesterday the police drew up about 1,300 protocols for violating the safety rules, and the inspection bodies submitted a proposal to terminate the activities of 87 organizations", said Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister drew attention to the slogan "wear a mask, save lives". "Many of our beloved young people today are guided by the premise that if they are young, do not have chronic diseases, so most likely the coronavirus will not cause them any major health problems. But I want to emphasize that a young asymptomatic person can infect another young person, and they can infect their parents or grandparents”, the Prime Minister warned.
Pashinyan also touched upon the cooperation with Georgia in the fight against the epidemic. He informed that from the very first days of recording the cases of infection, Armenia has closely cooperated with the Government of Georgia.
"We consider this cooperation very effective. Georgia is a brotherly country for us, and We are very happy for their willingness to help. Of course, if there will be need, may be steps, but we hope that such a need will not arise", said the PM.
