RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a council in the government today. "The aim of the changes in the state-citizen relations is to strengthen the statehood and its potential.
The time has come for the general declaration of individuals and the introduction of a new property tax system”, said the Prime Minister.
In his speech the Prime Minister, in particular, noted:
"These changes are made to increase the potential of our state, the Republic of Armenia, and the citizen-state relations must be significantly changed by these systems.
We know that the citizens of Armenia have rightly demanded from the Armenian government for many years and continue to demand transparency. I think that our government is very transparent in this respect, more transparent than any government in Armenia, but we will continue to move forward in this process of government transparency.
It is very important that we have the political will to implement all these changes consistently. There are two fundamental changes in this period. One of them is the new system we have proposed in the property tax system, and the second is the introduction of a system for declaring the income of individuals.
At the same time, we noted the necessity of this system in the context of the implementation of our anti-crisis programs, when we faced the situation that sometimes it is impossible to determine who is socially insecure and who is socially secure.
We realized that if we had a universal income declaration mechanism, in fact, we would have the real picture of the situation in terms of - who need help. And we could know that by only 1-2 computer operations.
So it's time to introduce a revenue declaration system for individuals. We need a very serious political will to make such reforms, and we have that political will".
