The meeting of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan took place in the Government.
"Honorable President of the Artsakh Republic, I am very glad to welcome you. This is the first official meeting in Yerevan since you were elected. Today we celebrate one of the most glorious victories of our people, the day of the heroic battle of Sardarapat, the day of the Republic, which has a very big symbol, showing how leaders can change the fate of the country and the people.
This day has a great message and it is symbolic that we are holding our first official meeting in the Republic of Armenia, in Yerevan, on this very day. I think that after the elections all the preconditions have been created for the governments and the authorities of the Republic of Armenia and the Artsakh Republic to pass to the stage of implementing strategic, long-term programs. And, of course, our strategies and programs should be combined as much as possible.
During this time we have discussed many issues related to the organization of our common affairs in the fields of agriculture, production and technology. As for security, Armenia and Artsakh are common security areas, and in this regard, our actions and challenges are obvious. I am confident that we will be able to face the challenges by cooperation and bring our homeland to a strategic, long-term and sustainable development", said Prime Minister Pashinyan.
In his turn, President Harutyunyan particularly noted. "Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, I take this opportunity to join all the congratulations that have been heard today. It is not an accidental day, it is a historic day. As you mentioned, it is important to realize that a lot depends on the leaders. I would like to express my readiness to share with you the important commitments taken for our country at this crucial, historic stage".
During the meeting the interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to the development of further cooperation between the governments of Armenia and Artsakh.
