Today the top leadership of Armenia and Artsakh at the Sardarapat Memorial paid tribute to the memory of the Armenians who died in the battle of 1918.
The RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, the Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, the RA President Armen Sargsyan, the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, approached separately the monument and commemorated the victims of the Sardarapat battle. They had protective masks on their face.
The solemn opening of the Sardarapat Memorial took place in May 1968, on the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Armenian people at the Battle of Sardarapat. The authors of the memorial are architect Rafael Israelyan, sculptors Arsham Shahinyan, Samvel Manasyan and Ara Harutyunyan.
