The Armenian Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in the Scutari district of Istanbul was attacked. An unknown person tore the cross on the door of the church on May 23.
The moment of the attack was recorded by the church cameras. Garo Paylan, an armenian member of the Turkish Parliament, spoke about the incident. He released a video stating that the attacks on Armenian churches continue.
Paylan commented - such crimes have become commonplace due to the government's hate speech. The church leadership also issued a statement and protested to the police.
