The first sitting of the newly elected National Assembly of Artsakh Republic was held today.
Arthur Tovmasyan, a deputy of the "Free Homeland-Civic United Alliance" bloc, was elected Speaker of the National Assembly by 29 votes in favor to 4.
Tovmasyan congratulated those represented in the newly elected Parliament and thanked the head of the Parliament of the previous three convocations Ashot Ghulyan for the joint long-term work.
Tovmasyan also expressed an opinion that first of all the new Artsakh-Armenia inter-parliamentary agreement should be signed with the National Assembly of Armenia and 4 inter-parliamentary sittings should be held annually instead of the current 2. According to new speaker of the Artsakh NA, it is also necessary to expand ties with foreign parliaments.
