Today the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan will send a letter to the law enforcement in connection with the post about Tatevik Revazyan (the chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee) and her newborn child, in order to understand the principles and directions of criminal policy of the fight against hate speech and take the right preventive measures, the Ombudsman's office informs.
"To be clear, the Ombudsman has no right to the use coercive measures, such as protecting officials from citizens or protecting citizens in relations with other citizens.
Yesterday's statement made by the Human Rights Defender aimed to emphasize once again the absolute inadmissibility of hate speech. Such vicious acts should simply be ruled out, which, unfortunately, are widespread and cause dangerous repercussions", the Ombudsman said in a statement.
Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan referred to the insulting remarks made by a user Artyom Khachatryan, about the chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee and his newborn daughter on the Internet. Tatoyan called the post "completely hate speech".
