On May 19, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. The partners exchanged views on steps taken at the national level to address the challenges posed by the new type of coronavirus.
Expressing satisfaction with the dynamics of the dialogue between Armenia and Egypt, the Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their mutual readiness to continue the steps towards further expansion of the bilateral agenda.
Among others was mantioned the need to take steps to fully realize the potential in the filds of pharmaceuticals, alternative energy, information technology and innovation, agriculture etc. In this context the partners also discussed the work of the Armenian-Egyptian intergovernmental commission.
The Foreign Ministers also touched upon issues of cooperation within the framework of multilateral cooperation, including in the African Union, the EEU and the United Nations. During the conversation ministers exchanged views on the situation in the region.
