At today's government session the Prime Minister said that now is actively beeing spread the hypothesis that there is no coronavirus, it is an artificial noise. He noted that it is necessary to understand the reason for spreading such a hypothesis.
"The matter is that about 75 percent of our positively diagnosed citizens have asymptomatic disease. And in fact, in this case, the disease is just a diagnosis written on paper", said the Prime Minister.
According to him, their strategy is as follows: "We must not go the way of imposing restrictions, but we must go the way of persuading people that we must comply with safety rules. Our strategy is not to return to the regime of closure", said the Prime Minister.
He informed that in March, it was estimated that if the coronavirus in Armenia developed according to the "Italian scenario", we would have 10,000 deaths in a month.
"We were not convinced that this scenario would not work, and to be honest, we are still not convinced. You have to keep in mind that we may still have to make restrictions decision. This will be the case if we exhaust our ability to provide medical care to symptomatic patients and if it turns out that there are more than 1,500 patients in need of assistance”, said Pashinyan.
Then at the Government sitting it was decided to extend the state of emergency in Armenia for another 30 days, until June 13.
