The "Bright Armenia" faction has nothing to do with either Mikayel Minasyan or other former officials. The head of the faction Edmon Marukyan said during the briefing in the National Assembly today.
Former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan is the son-in-law of former President Serzh Sargsyan. Minasyan's name is associated with a number of corruption schemes. Recently, a number of statements have been made about the connections between BA faction and representatives of the former authorities.
Referring to the "law on confiscation of illegal property", Marukyan said that representatives of the ruling force lie when say that their faction is fighting against that law.
"The law on confiscation of illegal property has been brought to the parliament, and BA faction has welcomed it. We have made proposals so that the law becomes better and does not harm the investment environment", said the head of BA faction, adding: only 1-2 of 27 proposals were adopted, that's why they abstained from voting.
