Over 11.8% of Armenian internet users have been subject to cyberattacks in the third semester of 2019. The Georgian number is 10.3%, the Azerbaijani – 12.7%.
The number has decreased in all three countries. In the second trimester of 2019, it was equal to 15.4% in Armenia, 14.2% in Georgia and 16.6% in Azerbaijan. The data belongs to Kaspersky, which claims that users from Tunisia were the most frequent victims of cyberattacks: 23.3%.
Local threats have also decreased. If in the second trimester of 2019 the number was 33.5%, in the third trimester it is 29.5%. In Georgia, the indices were respectively 26.6% and 22.5%, in Azerbaijan 39.2% and 34.7%. In the period July-September, Afghanistan users were the most frequent victims of local cyberattacks: 53.45%.
Experts advise to use an antivirus with web module, which protects users from downloading harmful files from infected sites.
To defend against local threats, USB drives should always be checked with an antivirus. It is necessary to disable the automatic initiations of USB drives in the computer, while cooperative users should be responsible for the physical safety of their devices and control them appropriately. They can do it, using the protection solutions, which have network connection control and device control, which are included in the antivirus programs for business.
