Tatevik Revazyan commented on the recent report about putting the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee under heightened scrutiny by the European Commission. European specialists mentioned the decrease in safety oversight as a motive. The issue arose from the Armenian airline Taron Avia, which did not meet the European flight standards.
According to Revazyan, there was a fear that the Armenian airline could be blacklisted. The head of the Committee mentioned that the issue had years of history. Due to low salary, there are no top professionals, who will be responsible for security. The European Commission will conduct another audit next year.
