Deputy Minister Ara Khzmalyan reviewed the cultural achievements of the past year. In 2019, finances were mostly directed to capital repairs and technical equipment of theaters, including Mime Theater, Yerevan Chamber Theater, Sundukyan Theater, as well as Vanadzor and Goris Drama Theaters. 12mln AMD was allocated to the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet to modernize lighting, audio and stage mechanisms, 32mln was allocated to the State Dance Art Collage.
The Ministry keeps cinematography in the spotlight too. The development of two projects on the law “On Cinema” has finished. This year, 45% of film production budget was allocated to premieres. A Pan-Armenian Cinema Forum is in the works, which will unite under one roof Armenian cinema figures of international fame.
