Criminal Court of Appeal, presided by Judge Narine Hovakimyan, denied the appeal of Manvel Grigoryan’s attorneys to release their client on bail.
The lawyers appealed the decision of November 5 of Mnatsakan Martirosyan, a judge of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, which denied the release of Grigoryan on bail.
Simultaneously, the court denied the motion of the defenders to remove prosecutor Vahe Dolmazyan from the case. Reading the bases and order of recusing the prosecutor, the presiding judge mentioned that the motion should be denied without touching on its substantiation, as within the framework of this appeal, the court is only authorized to verify the grounds and legality of the judgement.
