By the decision of the UN, July 20 will be observed as International Chess Day. The decision was adopted unanimously by the UN by the proposal of Armenia, joined by 54 countries.
Yerevan Chess Federation President, Chair of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Affairs of the Armenian Parliament Mkhitar Hayrapetyan wrote on Facebook that Armenia showed again it is a leading country of chess.
