The government approved the amendments to the law “On Non-Governmental Organizations”, which establishes that all NGOs have to submit annual reports.
SRC Chair Davit Ananyan, who noted that the acting regulation defines that only the organizations financed by public funds have an obligation to submit annual reports, presented the issue.
“To ensure high accountability we remove the limitation and offer that all the NGOs submit an annual report regardless of the source of their finances,” said Ananyan.
According to the SRC Chair, if the finances of an NGO are not from public means, they have to publish their programs without indicating the sources. Ananyan expressed confidence that the regulation would bring the Armenian reality closer to international standards.
