President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian attended legendary intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan’s funeral in Moscow.
President Sarkissian delivered a eulogy, praising Gohar Vardanyan and her late husband Gevork’s activities and merit.
The President said that the life of the legendary agents, which due to objective reasons was not public, was a beautiful and heroic story, full of real episodes which often seemed unreal. President Sarkissian spoke also of the impressions attained during his personal contacts with Gohar and Gevork Vardanians. Armen Sarkissian knew them for a long time, they had cordial relations.
The legendary intelligence agent Gohar Vardanian was buried at the Troekurovo cemetery in Moscow with military honors, in attendance of honor guard.
