Armenian nationals will be able to change their names in short terms, addressing any civil act registration body, as decreed by the government.
Before the decision, citizens could legally change their names only in the civil acts regional department of their registration place. Now the process will take place in any department. Thanks to the reforms in the field, civil registry employees will fill in the application instead of citizens in the online system.
The online registry gives the chance to receive all the documents necessary for changing names, so the terms of the service have to be reviewed too.
The project has been developed by the Ministry of Justice.
