President of Russia Vladimir Putin extended condolences over the death of great Soviet intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan, President’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
“Putin extended condolences to the family members and relatives of our legendary intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan. Without Gohar Vardanyan and her spouse Gevorg, the history of our world could have another course”, Peskov said.
According to Peskov the Gevorgyan spouses have left their trace in the history of humanity.
“Putin knew quite well both Gohar and her spouse. After the death of her husband, Putin received Gohar and visited her later,” said the spokesperson.
Gohar Vardanyan died on November 25 at the age of 93.
